We receive lots of great sessions here at IMB (really we do, I’m not just saying that!) but every once in a while we get a session that is just a little extra special.  This is one of those sessions!  Please read on to see why.  Thank you to Alissa Bray Photography for this awe inspiring session!

This has to be one of my very favorite sessions of all time. Hands down! I was contacted by a very special organization called Capturing Hopes. They provide professional photography for all NICU families in the US every two weeks for the entire time your sweet little one is there, free of charge. What a great way to provide just a little something for families going through a tough time and such a beautiful way to document their baby’s journey. Of course I said yes when Liz reached out.

I got the privilege of meeting the Rich family. Their daughter Macy had just been transferred from the NICU in Winston Salem. The beautiful part about Macy’s story is that she is adopted. We have our own adoption story and to get to meet such a beautiful family was so touching to me. Macy was born at 29 weeks gestation, but when I met her, she was 4 weeks old and doing AMAZING!! I couldn’t believe how alert she was. Lindsay’s older children were feeling a little under the weather the day we met, so I got some extra sweet time with just Mom and daughter.

Two weeks later, I got to visit Macy and her family again. This time big brother and big sister got in on the action! I am pleased to say that shortly after our second session, sweet Macy got to go home to grow up with her forever family!! I loved every second of taking these pictures and I highly recommend Capturing Hopes for you or anyone you may know who’s little sweetie might be in the NICU!! :-)
