A brilliant session by Sarah Martin Photography.  I love her style.  Creamy skin tones, a smiling baby, tasteful use of props, and great command over the lighting – what else could you want!  If you are new to newborn photography and have always wondered how those crafty photogs get shots of a smiling newborn, read on for some great tips!

This beautiful baby girl was just 5 days old at our session. Her name is Gia Rose and a little rose fit perfectly in with our session. She was an absolute dream baby and a star right from her birth. We wanted this session to have lots of creamy goodness as well as small pops of colour.

Some things to remember when doing a newborn session are to always have it very warm for the little babe and to keep their bellies full. This helps the session go smoother. Oh and patience! Patience is probably the most important part :) Wait for those little smiles. Have your camera ready to go and watch the baby through the viewfinder while he/she is falling back to sleep. Wait for it. Wait some more. Then snap as soon as you see babe start to smile. It makes for the most precious photos that parents adore!
